Enrollment, attendance, and access to resources are connected. Patrick believes CPS needs to better understand what is driving declining enrollment and how those changes affect students, families, and schools. He’ll focus on making sure schools have the resources and opportunities they need to serve their communities while making thoughtful decisions about how CPS responds to changing enrollment.

Patrick believes CPS must be responsible with its resources while making sure funding reaches the classrooms and students who need it. Drawing on his background in finance and accounting, he’ll focus on directing funding toward classrooms, making effective use of available state funding, and keeping budget decisions transparent so families and communities understand how CPS resources are being used.

Every student deserves to learn in a safe and supportive environment. Patrick believes school safety requires comprehensive protocols as well as input from the people who know their school communities best. He’ll focus on strengthening school safety while bringing parents and local organizations into the conversation about how CPS can create safer environments for students.
